The bed went together in just a couple of hours. When I first opened the instruction manual and the bag of parts, I was a bit overwhelmed...and I'm a very handy guy! But the instructions are very clear, the parts are very well labeled, and step by step the whole thing went together with ease. It's NOT hard to build. Although it comes with an Allen wrench for manual assembly, I would recommend you use a variable speed electric drill. You'll want both an Allen wrench bit and a medium size phillips head screw bit, as the allen screws go in a long way, and the slats are attached using self-tapping phillips head screws.ALL the parts fit, which is a bit of a surprise because at this price point, you don't expect high quality control.On that note, we had one part (the back rail of the trundle) split during its first few days of use. Turns out there was a rather large knot in the wood, which is where it split. Knots are understandable given that the bed is built with mostly pine.I wrote to the seller through Amazon and got a response back the very next day to confirm which part had broken. I gave them the information, and the new part was delivered via UPS about 3 days later. The customer service reps were eager to help to make things right...which is about all you can hope for from any company at any price point. Replacing the rail took about 10 minutes.One thing I think the seller should do is put more accurate photos on the website that show the exposed allen screw heads on the drawer fronts and elsewhere. Their presence gives the bed a bit less of a finished look.Overall the bed is pretty, sleeps 2, and has 3 drawers for storage underneath.We're happy with this bed for our guest room, and expect that it will last many years.-M
