This mattress arrived in a box that was beat all to hell and nearly torn apart. The UPS guy/girl dumped it on the front walk without so much as a knock. I was tempted to send it straight back for fear of it being damaged by the look of the box. We struggled to get it in the house (two of us 63+) and once we figured out how to place it on the foundation in order for it to open properly in the right position, it expanded pretty rapidly. The bed is very, very firm. We felt like we got beat half to death when we got up the next morning…however, our bodies seem to be either getting used to it or it’s starting to relax some. I believe we were just not supported by our old mattress and when we got this thing our bodies were rebelling. Thank goodness there is a long trial period. Hopefully we’ll grow to love it. If you like firm, this is it.
